Minister's Manual Bilingual

~ This bilingual ministers' manual has been designed to fulfil a long felt need in evangelical churches in South Africa. Many congregations have members from both English and Afrikaans families. From time to time a request is made that part of a service be conducted in English and another in Afrikaans. It is hoped that by publishing both translations side by side, we shall assist pastors in doing this.



The orders included are to serve as a guide. Only in the marriage ceremony, where certain wording is required by South African law, is it important to use the exact wording provided.



Where Scripture is quoted in English, the New International Version (NIV) has been used. The Afrikaans translation is from the 1953 revision of the Afrikaans Bible.



The compilers acknowledge their debt to two previous publications: Orders and Prayers for Church Worship (Payne & Winward), and Formulierboek - Afrikaanse Baptiste Kerk (Odendaal).
